Kamala Beach - Phuket

Once a quiet fishing village, today visitors to Kamala Beach come to unwind. Gaze at beautiful jungle scenery, swim in clear waters, stroll along the sandy beach and ultimately, relax.

The Northern end is quiet and laid back during the day, with a small and trendy party scene in the evenings largely due to beach bars including Café Del Mar and HQ Beach Lounge. The southern end is great for those who like to jet-ski and tube ride.

There is a good range of shops, restaurants and bars to suit your budget and taste. Small eateries and upscale restaurants are located both on the beach and behind it. To try some local cuisine, visit the fresh food market at the village entrance. Food and crafts markets are held a couple of days per week.

The main street offers a variety of shops including tour operators, tailors, convenience stores and dive shops. There is also a small plaza selling local and international goods. The lanes around the main street come alive a night with bars and restaurants. To experience local culture, visit Kamala Wat (Temple) located at the Southern end of the beach.

There are several guest houses that offer budget accommodation. Private villas and high-end hotels draw long and short term visitors. Secluded high end resorts cluster in the North, where there are breathtaking sea and mountain views.
