Koh Lipe

Translated as ‘Paper Island’, Koh Lipe has picture perfect white sandy beaches. Relax in a beach side bar, snorkel right off the beach, hike through the jungle or take a boat-trip out to stunning deserted islands in the Tarutao National Marine Park. Several top dive sites are close by for the more adventurous underwater explorers. Thailand’s most southern island, if it’s clear you can see the Malaysian island of Langkawi, just 30 km away.

Transport

From November until early May speedboats will arrive on Pattaya Beach. From May to November speedboats arrive near the school on Sunrise Beach. Normally you will have to buy a national park entry ticket for 200 THB per adult and 100 THB per child when you arrive. The ticket gives you the right to visit any of the islands in the Tarutao National Park for a week.

Things to do

Snorkel (or dive) among teeming tropical fish and deep oceans. Escape to deserted beaches. Camp in the wilderness or trek up a mountain – there is no shortage of things to do on Koh Lipe.
