Koh Phi Phi: Beaches and areas

Phi Phi islands look like something out of a movie. No wonder ‘The Beach’ (with Leonardo Di Caprio) was filmed here. The beaches have white powdery sand, fringed with palm trees and stunning rock formations. The water is clear, turquoise and full of tropical fish and colourful coral. Enjoy world-class beaches, all night partying and fantastic food on the main island of Phi Phi Don.

Tonsai Beach

Most of the action on Koh Phi Phi Don is situated between Tonsai Beach and Loh Dalum Beach to the north. Tonsai Pier is where all visitors arrive to the island. As a result the area is brimming with entertainment, accommodation and shops.

Loh Dalum Beach

Loh Dalum Bay is beautiful. Almost completely enclosed, the water is shallow and calm. Loh Dalum Bay is also Phi’s Phi’s undisputed nighttime capital. When the sun goes down the beach comes alive with fire shows, live music and dancing until the early hours.

Long Beach

With stunning views over Phi Phi Leh, fine white sand and excellent snorkelling, Long Beach is good for those who like quiet days and nights. Accessible by foot from Tonsai Village or by Longtail boat, you are still close to Phi Phi’s famous nightlife should you change your mind.

Rantee Beach

Shaded by palm trees and accessible on foot or by longtail boat, this little known beach offers a welcome break from the hectic party scene.

Loh Bagao Beach

Loh Bagao Beach is 4 km of remote, wild beach, stylish hotels and jungle-covered mountains. Nature lovers and romantics come here to escape the wild crowds and hike the lush mountains.

Laem Tong Beach

Laem Thong (Golden Bay) is a secluded fishing village on the northeastern coast of Phi Phi Don. Attracting those looking for a romantic and luxurious break, Laem Thong is around 40 minutes ride by Longtail boat from Tonsai Pier.
