Laem Tong Beach - Koh Phi Phi
Laem Thong (Golden Bay) is a secluded fishing village on the northeastern coast of Phi Phi Don. Attracting those looking for a romantic and luxurious break, Laem Thong is around 40 minutes ride by Longtail boat from Tonsai Pier.
The sweeping sandy beach is perfect for water-lovers. Sunbathing, snorkelling and scuba diving are the most popular activities by far. Snorkel right off the northern end of the beach or take a longtail boat to nearby Mosquito and Bamboo Islands. Karst limestone cliffs are home to colourful coral reefs and vibrant marine life. A couple of dive centres offer courses and day trips catering to all levels of experience.
Land-lovers can play beach volleyball, football and badminton, take a Thai cooking course or of course simply relax in a beach side bar. Off shore in the distance you can see the famous rock climbing paradise of Railay Beach and island of Koh Lanta.
International and local food is offered in the resort restaurants, and cheap local eats is found in the village. Luxurious resorts line the beach, with beautiful rooms, swimming pools and beach-side dining.
