Rantee Beach - Koh Phi Phi
Shaded by palm trees and accessible on foot or by longtail boat, this little known beach offers a welcome break from the hectic party scene.
At over 3kms long, there are plenty of places to relax and admire sweeping sea views over the staggering cliffs of Phang Nga Bay and the mainland.
Popular with day trippers, a lively coral reef teeming with fish lies around 80m from shore. Barracuda, Trevally and even pods of Dolphins are seen here. Kayaks and snorkelling equipment can be rented from the handful of bungalow operations on the beach.
You can reach Rantee Beach on foot from Tonsai Village. Follow the concrete steps to the View Point and follow the signs over the mountain towards Co Co shack and Phi Phi Relax beach Resort. Alternatively walk along the coast from the northern end of Long Beach. A longtail boat from Tonsai Pier will drop you right to the beach.
Those who stay here tend to be old school travellers who enjoy the laid back lifestyle and locally run bungalows right on the beach.
