Klong Dao Beach - Koh Lanta

Close to Saladan Village, (the main entry point to the island), Klong Dao Beach is nearly 4km long. The wide, sandy, crescent-shaped beach is fringed with palm trees. Popular with families due to shallow water and child friendly services, Klong Doa is still large enough for a quiet escape.

Well developed, yet retaining local charm, Klong Dao Beach is a lively, popular part of the island. The sweeping beach is great for sunbathing and strolling, widening as you reach the secluded northwest. Impressive boulders separate Khlong Dao from Phra Ae Beach in the south.

Shallow waters make this beach suitable for all the family; several hotels hold child friendly activities during the day. Beachside restaurants and bars are a cool escape from the sun. Volleyball and Frisbee players hit the beach in the afternoon as the temperature drops. Night-time entertainment is a low-key affair. The bars and hotels illuminate the beach, perfect for a sunset cocktail, fire show and a long stroll.

Shopping and eating

The beachfront is a great place to relax at a bar, or dine at one of the many restaurants offering fantastic views over the Andaman Sea. Klong Dao Road runs parallel to the beach in the south, tapering inwards as you get to the north. Here you’ll find great restaurants, cafes, convenience and grocery stores.

Hotels and resorts

Beachfront accommodation ranges from mid-level, family friendly to exclusive boutique hotels. Cheap accommodation is located on Klong Dao Road and the alleyways that cut through to the beach.
