Kantiang Bay - Koh Lanta

Often cited as Koh Lanta’s most beautiful beach, Kantiang Bay has clear water and white sand, fringed by thick jungle. Traditionally popular with backpackers and divers, exclusive resorts are bringing a little luxury to this secluded place.

Near the island’s southern point, Kantiang Bay is the last village before the National Marine Park. The quiet beach is around 1km long, with white powdery sand and crystal clear water great for swimming. A popular place for divers, you can arrange a diving or snorkelling trip to the spectacular reefs nearby, or snorkel right off shore. Lose some hours in a hammock along the tree lined coast, or take in the atmosphere at a bar. Like much of Koh Lanta, sunsets from this beach are to die for.

Nightlife in Kantiang Bay is relaxed. Listen to live music, watch a movie or a fire-show on the beach. Restaurants cater to western and local tastes.
The small village has good shopping for souvenirs and the 7/11 provides most shopping needs.

There are a small number of simple, family-run bungalows, right through to five star luxury and private villas.

Klong Dao Beach

Close to Saladan Village, (the main entry point to the island), Klong Dao Beach is nearly 4km long. The wide, sandy, crescent-shaped beach is fringed with palm trees. Popular with families due to shallow water and child friendly services, Klong Doa is still large enough for a quiet escape.

Phra Ae - Long Beach

Long Beach derives its name from being exactly that. Wide, sandy, and stretching over 4.5kms, this is Lanta’s longest beach. You can spend days exploring the coastline, lazing in the shade, playing sport, wining, dining, and of course, swimming.

Klong Khong Beach

Known for its laid-back atmosphere and spectacular sunsets, Klong Khong Beach is a charming place featuring relaxed bars, restaurants and family owned accommodation.

Klong Nin Beach

Catering to the backpacking crowd, Klong Nin Beach has a laid back atmosphere, plenty of bars and well-priced accommodation.

Nui Beach

Nui Beach is a tiny, secluded and picturesque bay hidden close to Klong Nin Beach. Inaccessible to vehicles, the beach has no accommodation. Relax at the only bar, swim the clear waters and enjoy the solitude.

Small Southern beaches

Huge rocks and thick jungle surround the small, crescent shaped beaches of Klong Jak and Bamboo Bay. Attracting those looking for a quiet escape, there are a few resorts hidden in among the trees.

Baan Saladan Pier Area

Baan Saladan is the main tourist drop off point and Koh Lanta’s biggest town. The majority of the island’s shops, banks and facilities are found here, as well as some of the best seafood dining.

Old Town

Settled some 500 years ago by Chao Lea (also known as Sea Gypsies), in the 17th Century, Lanta Old town was once a stopover for trade ships. Rich in history and Thai culture, today the Old Town offers a rare insight into Koh Lanta of the past.
