Emerald Pool (A Morakot) and Thun Teao National Park - Krabi

Around 60km from Krabi Town, Thung Teao National Park is a place of outstanding and ancient natural beauty. The Emerald Pool, also known as the crystal pool, is a main attraction, as is the abundant and exotic wildlife.

The park features a 2.7km long trail that winds through the ancient jungle. Hunting is banned here and it shows. The thick virgin forest is home to a large number of rare plants and animals.

There are waterfalls and spectacular scenery. The park is also home to rare plants and animals not found elsewhere in Thailand.

Mangrove forest at the Emerald Pool – Krabi

Follow the trail through the ancient forest to find the Emerald Pool. Or if you prefer, there is shorter 800m long path to the Pool from the Conservation Office. The mystical, emerald coloured natural spring water is warm and great for swimming.

You can also walk around 600m upstream to the Blue Pool. A natural hot spring, the water is an incredible shade of light blue. You cannot swim here.

The park is open every day during daylight hours and is about 1 hour’s drive from Krabi. There is an admission fee.4. Klong Thom Hot Springs (Nam Tok Rawn)
