Songkhla: Things to do

Tropical jungle, unique traditions and an ancient past – Songkhla is great for foodies, culture buffs and even families looking for an authentic, less touristy break.

Songkhla National Museum

Constructed around 1878, this fine example of Chinese architecture was originally home for the ruling na Songkhla family. Later the building became residence of Songkhla’s upper administrative officers and then City Hall. In 1953 it was converted as a museum to exhibit rare southern artefacts. Today, the museum offers an extensive insight into local archaeology, history and culture.

Singora Tram Tour

The Sigora Tram Tour is a great way to get to know Songkhla. The tour is free and takes around 45 minutes. See the ancient buildings, temples and the main beach of Samila.

Tae Raek Night Market

Get a taste of local Thai life at Songkhla’s popular night-market every Friday and Saturday. Try local delicacies, buy handcrafted souvenirs and listen to live music at this quintessentially Thai market.
