Samila Beach - Songkhla
Located in the City Municipality, Samila Beach is best known for 2kms of fine white sand, shady pine trees and clear water. It is also home to Songkla’s famous Mermaid statue, resembling Phra Mae Kongkha, the Goddess of water.
Gorgeous views over nearby tropical islands of Koh Nu and Koh Maeo and a large kids playground draws local and tourist families. The southern end of Samila Beach is home to Songkhla’s much loved mermaid statue. Resembling Phra Mae Kongkha, the Goddess of water, Thai’s pay respect to her at Loi Kratong festival, asking forgiveness for any misdeeds.
Restaurants and basic accommodation lay in the streets away from the beach.
