Satun
The word Satun is derived from the Malay word Setul meaning ‘wild Mangosteen’, a tree that bears a sweet, lychee like fruit. A popular transport hub, you can catch a direct ferry to the Malaysian island of Langkawi from Tammalang Pier, around 8km from Satun Town. Satun Province includes the port town of Pak Bara where you can reach the idyllic islands of Koh Lipe, Koh Bulon and Koh Tarutao.
