Koh Tarutao: Beaches and areas

Thailand’s fourth largest island, Koh Tarutao is protected as part of the Tarutao Marine Park’s since 1974. That means uninterrupted beaches, basic amenities and lots of nature. It also means no wifi, no ATM and electricity limited to the evenings. Kilometres of undeveloped, sandy beaches line the west cost of the island.

Ao Phante Melaka - Pier and visitor centre

The Marine Park Visitor Centre offers a wealth of information about the facilities, history and activities on Koh Tarutao.

Ao Molae

Secluded and quiet, this large, crescent shaped beach features white sand, clear water and basic accommodation.

Ao Son Bay

The only bay on Koh Tarutao’s west side, turtles come to lay their eggs here in breeding season. It is also the beginning of the trail to Luu Doo Waterfall.
