Boat trips - Koh Phi Phi
The 6 islands of Koh Phi Phi host stunning beaches, coral reefs and dramatic limestone cliffs famous to the area. The islands are close enough to visit on a daytrip, which you can arrange from Phi Phi Don.
Maya Bay
Maya Bay is famous as the set for movie ‘The Beach’ starring Leonardo DiCaprio. A stunning bay surrounded by 100 metre high cliffs on three sides, Maya Bay changes with each tide. The main beach is around 200 metres long with silky soft white sand. The water is unbelievably clear, making easy viewing of the colourful tropical fish and coral reef.
The best time to visit Maya Bay is from November to April when the sea is calm and the bay is easy to access. Visit early morning or late afternoon to avoid the biggest crowds. You are entering a National Park, which means you need to pay an entrance fee.
Mosquito Island
Mosquito Island (Koh Yung) is located in the northeastern group of Phi Phi islands. Famous for diving and snorkelling, the southeastern tip of the island has colourful soft coral reefs and large schools of tropical fish.
Bamboo Island
Stunning Bamboo Island is 5km from the northern tip of Phi Phi Don. The tiny island is only 500m at its widest point and is surrounded by beautiful white sandy beaches. You can snorkel right off the beach where there is a coral reef rich with marine life.
