Snorkelling - Koh Ngai
Koh Ngai boasts great snorkelling right off the beach – but it’s also perfectly positioned to explore some of Thailand’s best snorkelling sites. Take a Longtail boat trip out to colourful coral reefs teeming with fish. Explore Koh Muks’ magical emerald cave or snorkel off the shore of a deserted beach.
Resembling giant rocks more than islands, Koh Maa, Koh Chueak and Koh Waen are easy to reach by Longtail or kayak. Limestone cliffs plunge into the sea, supporting a large coral reef and ample sea life.
You can also take a day trip to Koh Muk’s impressive Emerald Cave. Pass through the short, pitch-black tunnel (torches are provided) and the cave opens up into a secret beach oasis surrounded by limestone cliffs. Day trips often stop at Koh Kradang, a tiny island surrounded by a coral reef and covered in bamboo, rubber and coconut trees.
