Shows and cabaret - Phuket
Thailand is famous for its ladyboys and the performances in Phuket are some of the best in Thailand. A great night out, the shows are glamorous and glitzy, the ladyboys fierce and the music an explosion of pop hits. Simon Cabaret and Aphrodite are the most popular family friendly venues. Soi Paradise and Soi Katoey hold some of the raunchier adult themed shows.
1. Simon Cabaret (Patong)
Simon Cabaret is a bold, glitzy, Vegas style night out for all the family. Established in 1991, think the fabulous costumes, talented ladyboys, camp, glitter and a little bit of magic. Still one of the biggest drawcards on the island, sit back and enjoy the sequinned spectacle.
2. Aphrodite Cabaret (Phuket Town)
Housed in a ship-like theatre that sits 900 people, Aphrodite is a glamorous cabaret show with a cast of hundreds. The costumes are magnificent, the staging clever and the ladyboys perform everything from pop sensation Madonna to Thai, Japanese and even Russian songs. In addition to the show there are two huge restaurants and a brewery on site.
3. Palazzo Theatre & Restaurant
Located near Phuket Water Ski in Kathu, Palazzo is a dinner and show experience. Held in a unique pyramid shaped building, the show’s mix of dining and light entertainment suits all the family. The international cast includes jugglers, illusionists, acrobatics, contortionists and live music.
4. Phuket Siam Niramit Show
Located north of Phuket Town, dazzles in an award-winning performance. Featuring Thailand’s rich artistic and cultural heritage, the show claims to be one of the world’s largest stage productions.
Open daily apart from Tuesday, there are plenty of enjoyable pre-show attractions. A traditional style Thai village with floating market, outdoor performances of traditional music and dancing help visitors understand more about the Thai way of life. There is a restaurant on site too.

Diving
Phuket is a long established location for dive enthusiast and those who want to learn. There are a number of reputable diving schools and tour operators that cater to all levels and experience. Bangla Road (Patong)
Patong is the undisputed nightlife capital of the island. At night Bangla Road becomes a neon-lit party paradise. Beer bars, go-go bars, nightclubs, massage parlours, cabaret shows and literally hundreds of restaurants serving every cuisine imaginable line the street and side streets. For many tourists, this is their first and only stop when it comes to night-time entertainment.
Surfing
The West Coast surfing season runs from around April to November and is starting to make a name for itself. Waves are maximum 3 metre which makes it a good place to learn. Surfing here isn’t limited to beginners though. A number of well-known surfers have been spotted in the area as it continues to grow in popularity.
